Rush to Perform Live at the i Wireless Center March 20

Rush will be performing live at the i Wirless Center on Tuesday March 20 at 7:30 pm.

Canadian rock band Rush has been the influence to several musicians, such as Metallica, the Smashing Pumpkins and Primus.  The band also inspired the progressive metal bands Dream Theater and Symphony X.

Known for their instrumental virtuosity, Rush’s music features complex compositions and eclectic lyrical motifs, drawn from a wide range of topics.  Some topics include science fiction, fantasy and philosophy, as well as humanitarian, social, emotional and environmental concerns.

Rush has been recognized for their musical achievements through the Canadian Music Hall of Fame and has received a Juno Award on several occasions.

The band has released 24 gold records and 14 platinum records standing in fifth place for the most consecutive gold and platinum albums.  The band is preceded on the list by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kiss and Aerosmith.  The band is also tied with Nirvana, ZZ Top and Faith hill at the 77^th position on the list for United States album sales.
