Aunt Jemima Pancake Mix Recall Due to Salmonella Scare

Quaker Oats Co. announced a recall Wednesday for Aunt Jemima Pancake & Waffle Mix original, original complete and buttermilk complete products, which may have potential salmonella contamination.

The company, which is owned by PepsiCo, Inc. (NYSE: PEP), said the products are sold in two-pound and five-pound boxes with "best before dates" of Feb. 8, 2009 through Feb. 16, 2009. No other Aunt Jemima, frozen Aunt Jemima or Quaker products are affected.

Quaker said it is recovering the product involved and said most products haven't yet been placed on store shelves. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this issue to date.

The company said consumers should contact the toll-free hotline at 1-800-407-2247 or log into http://www.auntjemima.com with any questions.
