HolidayLEDs.com, and online retailer of energy-efficient Christmas lights and decorative lighting, reports that its 1st annual recycling program received more than 3,000 pounds of Christmas lights. The company estimates that more than 5,000 people participated in the program.
“We are keeping the program open year-round but the submissions are slowing down now which has allowed us to finally get caught up on processing the lights,” said Timothy Hill, co-owner of HolidayLEDs.com. Hill and his company received and processed more than 3,000 pounds of old Christmas lights for recycling in a period of approximately 3 months. “It really worked out to be a good program, but we are glad to have a bit of a break so we can get the coupons out to all of the participants.
The first 100 participants in the program received a free set of lights and the remaining participants who submitted their lights before January 31, 2008 will receive a HolidayLEDs.com coupon. “We shipped the free lights sets out to the first 100 participants last month and we hope to have the coupons emailed or mailed by the end of this month,” Hill explained. The coupons can be redeemed at HolidayLEDs.com.
HolidayLEDs.com also anticipates that it will expand its seasonal light give-away next year. The dates and details for the program will be announced this fall. Anyone interested in being notified about the program can sign-up for a HolidayLEDs.com user account.
The Christmas light recycling program will be open year-round for interested participants.
