Fortress
Paper Ltd. (TSX: FTP) has signed a purchase agreement through its 100% owned
subsidiary, Fortress Specialty Cellulose Ltd. with Stora Enso Oyi Cellulose
Inc. to acquire digesters, specialized process equipment as well as other
ancillary equipment for the use in the conversion of its Thurso mill to produce
dissolving pulp.

Under
the agreement, Fortress will pay C$3.8 million and includes the purchase and
delivery of a complete displacement cooking plant which will contain 3 batch
digesters, liquor accumulators and several associated specialty pieces of
equipment.
