Metallica will be performing live at the SKK Arena on Friday, July 18. The show time is to be announced.
In 1981, drummer, Lars Ulrich, rhythm guitarist and vocalist, James Hetfield, lead guitarist Dave Mustaine and basist Ron McGovney formed the heavy metal rock band, Metallica. McGovney and Mustaine were later replaced by Cliff Burton and Kirk Hammet, respectively, which resulted in high tensions between Mustaine and the band. Following the tragic death of
Metallica is considered one of the founders of “thrash metal” and is known for their fast tempos and aggressive music. Since the release of Master of Puppets, in 1986, the group quickly became an influential music group with a strong fan base within the underground music community. Continuing their rise to fame, the band release a self titled album in 1991 with a number one song on the Billboard 200.
Despite their success, many began to accuse the band of “selling out”, claiming that the group went mainstream with the release of their 1996 album, Load. Critics noted that the album had “an almost alternative approach.”
