Joran Van der Sloot Reportedly Confesses to Murder

Joran Van der Sloot has reportedly confessed to killing 21-year-old Stephany Flores Ramirez. CNN reports Van der Sloot, once a suspect in the 2005 disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway, confessed to Peruvian police late Monday. He could be charged with murder as early as Tuesday.

Ramirez was found dead in a Lima, Peru hotel room registered under Van der Sloot’s name last Wednesday. Van der Sloot, 22, fled to Chile and was captured Thursday.

Van der Sloot faces up to 35 years in prison. Peru does not have the death penalty or life sentences.
