Jack Johnson to Perform Live at the Church Road Winery March 22

Jack Johnson will be performing live at Church Road Winery on Saturday, March 22 at 5:00 pm.

 

A Hawaiian native, Jack Hody Johnson is a singer, songwriter, musician, film maker and surfer.  Following the release of his debut album, Brusfhire Fairytales in 2001, Johnson continued to release four more albums and numerous EPs featuring his usual acoustic, soft rock and adult alternative like music.

 

After Brushfire Fairytales, On and On, In Between Dreams, Sing-A-Longs and Lullabies for the Film Curious George and Sleep Through the Static were released.

 

In 2002, Johnson founded Brusfhire Records which produced the soundtrack for his film, Thicker than Water.  Brushfire Records has signed Matt Costa, Animal Liberation Orchestra, G. Love & Special Sauce and Rogue Wave.

 

Johnson also founded the Kokua Hawaii Foundation in 2004, which focuses on environmental education in Hawaii.   Each year the foundation hosts the Kokua festival that joins enverionmental organizations with eco-friendly businesses, musicians, artists, teachers and community leader to promote environmental awareness in Hawaii.

 

Johnson expresses his environmental concerns on the back cover of his latest album, Sleep Through the Static, where it states that the album was recorded using solar energy.  In addition, the first song on the album, “All at Once”, gives a message, warning listeners about the effects of global warming and climate change.
