Pacquiao to Fight Mayweather in Vegas?

Will Money Bring This Major Fight to Las Vegas?

According to Manny Pacquiao's promoter Bob Arum, "The key element, if the [Manny Pacquiao vs. Floyd Mayweather Jr.] fight happens, we're finding out now is that Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas is Frank Sinatra times a hundred. They all are licking their chops for Manny Pacquiao, especially against Floyd Mayweather, because nobody else can bring in the highest of the high-rollers. The MGM or Steve Wynn will put up a number over or above the best gate." In other words, everyone wants to see this fight, so the Las Vegas casinos are willing to put up some big bucks in order to host it. Pacquiao's next fight was originally scheduled to take place at the Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, but Arum may not be able to resist the temptation to bring it to Las Vegas instead, especially if a match-up between Pacquiao and the undefeated Mayweather is ever negotiated. Previous negotiation attempts to set up a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight failed because Pacquiao would not submit to Mayweather's demands for Olympic-style drug testing before the fight. More specifically, Manny said that he would not have his blood drawn for testing within 24 days of the fight, because it left him feeling weak. But now things have changed, at least on one side. Manny Pacquiao, who was recently named Fighter of the Year by the Boxing Writers Association of America, is now willing to undergo blood testing within 14 days of the fight, according to Arum. Will Manny's slight concession be enough for Mayweather to agree to fight him? And if so, will this long-awaited fight take place in Vegas? Only time will tell. (Sources: ESPN.com)
