PostcardMania receives international acclaim for probono work

PostcardMania wins platinum MarCom Award in probono category for their creative contribution in helping boost military morale for non-profit organizations such as USO Georgia.

PostcardMania, the award-winning direct mail marketing company, was awarded the prestigious Platinum Award in the probono category of the International MarCom Creative Awards.  The MarCom Creative Awards is an international awards competition that recognizes outstanding achievement by marketing and communication practitioners.  The creative postcard designs that won were of a series of military-themed postcards that were sent to the Hunter Army Airfield this past summer for troops being deployed to Iraq.  The postcards were given out by the volunteers of USO Georgia to soldiers to write to their loved ones one last time before they left for Iraq

The MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP).  Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.  The Platinum Award is presented to those entries judged to be among the most outstanding entries in the competition.

As part of its mission, the AMCP fosters and supports the efforts of marketing and communication professionals who contribute their unique talents to public service and charitable organizations.

PostcardMania’s pro-bono division, established two years ago by owner and CEO Joy Gendusa, was responsible for the work done for USO Georgia.  While Joy had been participating in other projects involving donations and pro-bono work since opening in 1998, she wanted a more organized structure to be able to help more people.  There is only one condition when submitting an application for pro-bono work— those asking must be dedicated to helping mankind improve and making the world a better place.  Gendusa felt USO Georgia’s purpose to keep soldiers in touch with their loved ones fit the bill.

“You truly have no idea how much these cards have been appreciated.  They were a God send and have brought smiles to faces that I'll never see,” thanked Paulette Nelson, a USO Volunteer in Savannah Georgia.  Nelson is also an award-winning humanitarian.  In November last year, Microsoft Corporation presented her with one of their first Above and Beyond Awards.  The national honor recognizes the contributions of the military community, friends, family and other individuals, who brighten the lives of US troops throughout the world.

PostcardMania was recognized for their creative marketing savvy in 2 additional divisions (non-probono) of the MarCom Creative Awards, taking home another Platinum and one Gold Award for exceeding the high standards of the industry norm.
