Detectives Close to Arrest in Lauren Burk Murder

While no official suspect has been named in the murder of 18-year-old Auburn University student Lauren Burk detectives have revealed that they are close to arresting a suspect in the case.

It is now believed that the individual who shot and killed Burk on Tuesday evening knew her. With that belief police have interviewed several people and those considered “persons of interest.”

Burk was found approximately three miles off the campus of Auburn University, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The freshman was clinging to life when she was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead later that evening.

Shortly after she was found police were notified that her car had been set ablaze at a location on campus.
