Model Waris Dirie Missing

A former Chanel model has gone missing in Brussels, Belgium. Waris Dirie was last seen Wednesday, said her manager Walter Lutschinger. She was spotted getting into a taxi after a hotel room mix-up but has not been seen since.

Dirie was scheduled to speak at two conferences this week. She was a model for Chanel ads before she became a women’s rights activist. In 1996, she launched a campaign against female genital mutilation.
