Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers to Perform Walnut Creek Amphitheater July 12

Thomas Earl Petty is a singer, songwriter and guitarist, born on October 20, 1950, known for his hit songs, “Dont Do Me Like that”, “Refugee”, “Runnin Down a Dream”, “The Waiting”, Dont Come Around Here No More”, “I Wont Back Down”, “Free Fallin”, “Mary Janes Last Dance”, “American Girl” and “You Dont Know How it Feels.”  Tom Petty will be performing with The Heartbreakers at the Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina on Saturday, July 12 at 7:30 pm.

Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers have worked together for the majority of Petty’s career, although he released solo work on occasion.  His most recent solo release was in 2006.  It was called the Highway Companion.  The artist performed most of the instrumentation himself.

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will be on Tour in the United States and Canada throughout 2008 on the North American Tour.  Joining them will be Steve Windwood, who will open every show.
