Rush to Perform Live at the Gorge Campground March 30

Rush will be performing live at the Gorge Campground in George, Washington on Friday, March 30 at 8:00 pm.

Rush was formed in the Toronto, Ontario in 1968 with Geddy Lee (bassist, keyboardist and lead vocalist), Alex Lifeson (guitar), and Neil Peart (lyricist and drummer).  Since the release of their first album, the band gained popularity for their instrumental virtuosity.  With complex compositions and eclectic lyrical motifs, Rush’s music often focused on science fiction, fantasy, libertarian philosophy and addressed the humanitarian, social, emotional and environmental concerns.

Popular groups, such as Metallica, the Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, Dream Theater and Symphony X are said to have been influenced by Rush.

Rush was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and has received several Juno Awards.  With 24 gold records and 14 platinum records, the band is fifth in place for the most consecutive gold and platinum albums.  The band is also in 78th place, tied with Nirvana, ZZ Top, Selena, Jay-Z and Faith Hill, for the most albums sold in the United States.
