Jay-Z and Mary J Blige to Perform Live at Philips Arena April 8

Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will be performing live at Philips Arena in Atlanta, GA on Tuesday, April 8 at 7:30 pm.

With a net worth of $600 million, Jay Z is one of the most financially successful performance artists and entrepreneurs in the United States.  Born as Shawn Corey Carter, Jay-Z began as a hip hop artist and gained recognition for his mix of street and popular music styles with improved lyrics. 

Jay-Z’s critically acclaimed 2001 album, The Blueprint, was allegedly written in 2 days.  Although the album was unfortunately released on the infamous 9/11,  the album sold over 426,000 copies during its first week and quickly went platinum with over 2.3 million copies sold within the United States.

Mary Jane Blige is known for her “gritty” voice and is often compared to Patti LaBelle and Aretha Franklin.  The “Queen of Hip Hop Soul” is an American R&B, soul and hip hop singer who has dabbled in rap, record production and rapping.

Mary J Blige has sold over 40 million albums and over 10 million singles worldwide.
