Eliot Spitzer Admits Being Involved in Prostitution Ring

New York Governor Eliot Spitzer admitted Monday that he was involved in a prostitution ring, according to an article in the New York Times.

Spitzer told his senior administration officials that he was involved in a prostitution ring and has set a press conference for Monday at 2:15pm.

Last week, federal prosecutors arrested four people in connection with an expensive prostitution ring. Administration officials would not say if this was the ring with which the governor was involved in.

However, there is speculation that Spitzer was listed in the court papers.

The governor’s travel records show that he was in Washington in mid-February. One of the clients described in court papers arranged to meet with a prostitute who was part of the ring at the Emperors Club VIP on the night of Feb. 13.

Spitzer, a first-term Democrat, was attorney general prior to being elected governor of New York. As attorney general, he also had prosecuted at least two prostitution rings as head of the state’s organized crime task force.

Spitzer is married with three children.
