Two bicyclists were killed and another injured in California on Sunday after they were hit by a deputy’s patrol car. A Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department spokesman said the deputy was crossing double yellows lines when the cyclists were hit.
The two killed were identified as 30-year-old Kristy Gough and 29-year-old Matt Peterson. The third cyclist was not identified and remains in critical condition at Stanford University Medical Center in California.
The California Highway patrol is investigating the accident.
