Dallas Faux Finish Artist, Evie’s Easel, Featured in Showcase Gallery

Decorative home painting heads in a new direction with the showcase of Compass Rose on artwork gallery site

Evie’s Easel, a faux finish and decorative painter in Dallas, Texas, has taken murals in a new direction with the showcase of a mural entitled “Compass Rose.” On display by Modello Designs, an online decorative pattern and design company offering creation and application services to the public, the ornate compass rose design displays a mixture of impeccable attention to detail and design.

Completed for a customer with a special fondness for the design, Eva Musquiz, owner and artisan for Evie’s Easel, first created the design and then applied the design to the ceiling framing the wooden blade fan. The classic pattern used a mix of coppers and rich browns to highlight the old world appeal.

Upon learning that her design was selected to be showcased on Modello Designs™, Eva said, “While it's so pleasing to see the customer's face when she first viewed the finished Compass Rose, it was very exciting to see my work published on the Modello website.”

With three years in the industry and an apprenticeship under a faux finishing veteran, Eva Musquiz is well on her way to becoming the next big innovative faux artisan in Dallas, Texas.  With a twinkle in her eye that really shows her spirit and love for all that is art, Eva said, “Art is more than a career for me. I see color an art in everyday life and feel like I come alive with a paintbrush in my hand. I look forward to producing more quality examples in the near future!”
