Billy Crystal signed a one-day contract with the New York Yankees on Tuesday.
The actor/comedian will play in a spring training game against the Pittsburgh Pirates on March 13, one day before his 60th birthday.
Crystal is a New York native and lifelong Yankees' fan who frequently attends home games at Yankee Stadium.
In 2001, he directed and produced the film ``*61,'' which chronicled Roger Maris and Mickey Mantle as they sought to break Babe Ruth's single-season home run record in 1961.
Crystal will wear No. 60 on his jersey to commemorate his upcoming birthday.
