Ex-NYSE Director Ken Langone Thinks Eliot Spitzer Should Resign

Ex-NYSE Director Ken Langone said in an CNBC interview Monday that he thinks New York Governor Eliot Spitzer should resign.

Langone was once targeted by Spitzer in regards to the large payout of Dick Grasso, who was the chairman and chief executive of the New York Stock Exchange from 1995 to 2003.

"He destroyed reputations of people who had good reputations and deserved reputations," said Langone. "He talked today about his standards - but what he didn't talk about was the standards that he held everybody else to that he couldn't keep."

Langone also said he had proof that Spitzer went to the Emperor's Club VIP. "I know for sure he went himself to a post office and bought $2,800 worth of mail orders to send to the hooker," said Langone. "I know somebody who was standing in back of him in line."

On Monday, Gov. Spitzer announced that he was involved in a prostitution ring, which was found out to be the infamous scandal at the Emperor's Club VIP. According to the affidavit, Spitzer was identified as "Client 9" and paid upward of $4,000 to the Emperor's Club VIP for a prostitute named "Kristen".

Langone is the founder and Chairman of Invemed Associates LLC., a New York Stock Exchange member firm engaged in investment banking and brokerage. He is also the co-founder of Home Depot, Inc.
