Rush to Perform Live at the Amphitheater at Clark County July 1

Rush will be performing live at the Amphitheater at Clark County in Ridgefield, Washington on Sunday, July 1 at 7:30 pm.

Canadian born, Rush formed in August 1968 in the Willowdale neighborhood of Toronto, Ontario.  The original line up consisted of Geddy Lee, bassist, keyboardist and lead vocalist, Alex Lifeson, guitarist and Neil Peart, drummer and lyricist.  Neil Peart was replaced by John Rutsey in July 1974.

Since the release of their debut album in 1974, Rush quickly gained popularity for their instrumental virtuosity, complex compositions and eclectic lyrical motifs, inspiring several popular bands such as Metallica, The Smashing Pumpkins, Primus, Dream Theater and Symphony X.

The band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 1994 and has been noted as having some of the most proficient players on their instruments.  Each band member has won numerous awards in magazine polls.

The band has 24 gold records and 14 platinum records, 3 being multi-platinum records, placing them fifth in place behind The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Kiss and Aerosmith for the most consecutive gold and platinum albums sold.  The RIAA also noted them as the 78th band to sell the most albums in the United States.
