Durham Police Arrest Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr., Second Suspect in Eve Carson Murder

Durham Police and SWAT officers arrested Lawrence Alvin Lovette Jr. early Thursday morning following several tips that led them to a house in which the 17-year-old was hiding.

Lovette is believed to be the second suspect involved in the brutal murder of University of North Carolina student body president Eve Carson last week.

The arrest comes one day after Durham police apprehended 21-year-old Demario James Atwater. Atwater made his first court appearance yesterday to hear charges that have been leveled against him.

Both Lovette and Atwater are currently on parole.
