Major Security Breach at Heathrow Airport, as Man Runs Onto Runway with Possible Explosive

A man with a backpack hopped a fence and ran onto a runway at London’s Heathrow Airport Thursday afternoon leading authorities to quickly detain the individual and place him under arrest.

There have been no reports about the contents of the backpack. Authorities called the incident a “major security breach” and have not ruled out a possible link to terrorist activity.

The arrest led to the closing of at least one runway at Heathrow.
