Make-Up Artists Against Drugs

“Beautiful People Don’t Do Drugs”

On the eve of Narconon of Georgia's 7th anniversary, Mary Rieser, Executive Director, recalls how Beautiful People learned about drug addiction and the consequences of drug abuse.

Narconon of Georgia Drug Rehab deals with drug addiction in many guises. Now the fight was taken to the Beautiful People. Literally.

In conjunction with “Makeup Artists Against Drugs”, Narconon Drug Rehab in Georgia launched a program to teach children aged 6 through 18 the dangers of drug abuse and also how to turn a stylish curl.

A representative from Make-up Artists Against Drugs stated: “As makeup artists in the Atlanta area our goal is to empower children with the knowledge (that they can understand at their level) about what drugs do to the body mind and spirit, and also help young women raise their self esteem, using a network of volunteer makeup artists which will not only apply makeup but teach them how to do so. We will also be providing young boys and men lectures on grooming so that they are not left out.

“We chose Narconon of Georgia to support as by examination of statistics it is by far the most impinging drug education lectures for children that we have found available”

Dozens of children participated by learning the do’s and don’ts of make-up, as well as learning the effects drug abuse can have on their beauty. Beautiful people don’t do drugs. And with the education provided by Narconon of Georgia, and the efforts of Make-up Artists Against Drugs, they never will.
