Billy Crystal Strikes Out As Yankees' DH, Leadoff Hitter

Billy Crystal struck out as the Yankees' leadoff batter and designated hitter in an exhibition game during Spring Training against the Pittsburgh Pirates Thursday.

Crystal, a lifelong Yankees fan, got his chance to play for his favorite baseball team a day before his 60th birthday. Crystal wore No. 60 for the commemorative game.

Derek Jeter followed Crystal in the lineup, with Alex Rodriguez, Bobby Abreu and Robinson Cano among the other regulars also playing.

Johnny Damon was scheduled to take over the DH job from Crystal later in the game.

Crystal, the famed comedian, is best known for his movie roles than his baseball acumen.

Crystal starred in such movies as "City Slickers", "Analyze This" and "When Harry Met Sally".
