In a game that featured numerous scoring opportunities it was an unforgivable handball inside the box that led to the only goal as Ghana stunned Serbia 1-0 on Sunday to jump to the top of Group D play at the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
That goal came in the 84th minute as Asamoah Gyan took drove home the penalty kick resulting from a needless handball infraction committed by Zdravko Kuzmanovic.
The win was the first for an African nation in the 2010 FIFA World Cup and puts Ghana in strong position to advance. Ghana shares the group with Germany and Australia as well as Serbia.
