Leasing Information Gets Added to new Real Estate Wiki

Real Estate Encyclopedia Expands to Also Include Renting Information

Real Estate Wiki, officially launched last week, is an independent wiki and is not affiliated with the Wikipedia Foundation. Real Estate Wiki is the culmination of a group of dedicated real estate professionals that decided to work together to centralize real estate related information, FAQ’s, bios, industry trends, summaries of industry providers, brokers and agents in one online resource for everyone to use.

Today Real Estate Wiki, announced the addition of over 70 Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) to help renters with handy information about the process of leasing a home instead of buying.  According to a spokesperson for Real Estate Wiki, this new addition of leasing information is an example of the kind of industry focus a specialized wiki can provide. The FAQs included topics such as:

  • How to Find Rental Properties
  • Obligations of a Tenant
  • When Leases can be Terminated
  • Responsibilities of the Landlord
  • Nuisances and Unlawful Activities
  • Leasehold Improvements
  • Lease Agreements
  • Trust Accounts
  • Possession
  • Defaults

During the last week Real Estate Wiki surged over 11,000 entries, up from the 7,000 entries at the beta lanuch in January.

According to ComScore and Hitwise two real estate websites, Apartments.com and Rent.com, both rank in their January 2008 report as top 10 real estate websites based on traffic. This shows how important this sector of the real estate industry is, especially during a depressed real estate market.

Real Estate Wiki is looking for volunteers that have knowledge of the real estate business and that would like to be regular contributors to Real Estate Wiki that would like to help contribute in creating a quality, national real estate encyclopedia for everyone to use. Interested parties should please contact Gatekeeper@RealEstateWiki.com
