Jury Clears Two Doctors in John Ritter Death

A jury in a Glendale, CA courtroom has cleared two doctors of negligence charges related to the death of actor John Ritter.

Ritter died in 2003 after suffering a torn aorta and his widow, Amy Yasbeck as well as his children filed a lawsuit against a radiologist, Matthew Lotysch, and a cardiologist, Dr. Joseph Lee, claiming negligence.

The jury ruled in a 9-3 verdict that the doctors did not act negligently and no mages would be awarded.

While the doctors were not found negligent the Ritter family has secured more than $14 million in settlements since the actor died on Sept. 11, 2003.
