Oregon Earthquake Registers 5.9 Magnitude

An earthquake struck off the northern Pacific coast of Oregon on Saturday, registering a 5.9 magnitude according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Reports have indicated the quake struck about 112 miles off the cost of Port Orford, Oregon but there have been no warnings of a tsunami due to the relatively shallow temblor.

The USGS placed the depth at 6.2 miles.
