NBA Finals: Celtics Take 3-2 Lead
Boston One Win Away From Finals Title
With a 92-86 defeat of the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, the Boston Celtics have taken their first lead of the 2010 NBA Finals series. The Celtics are now only one win away from winning the Finals; they are also only one win away from ending Phil Jackson's impressive 47-0 streak of winning NBA playoff series after winning Game 1, which the Lakers did in this series. Kobe Bryant had a phenomenal game, scoring 38 points, half of which were made during an amazing 8-minute run in the third quarter. Unfortunately, no one else on the Lakers had a particularly good game -- not even Pau Gasol, who is usually a force to be reckoned with. On the Celtics side, Paul Pierce had what can best be described as his breakthrough game of the series, scoring 27 points. Kevin Garnett and Rajon Rondo also had great games, each scoring 18 points. After the game, Pierce explained the situation ahead of them, "It was our biggest game of the year. We're in a good spot. We have two games in L.A.; now we have to get one." It's true that the Celtics only have to win one more game, but considering that they only won by six points after playing one of their best games of the year, we can definitely expect to see some great competition in Game 6, which can be seen Tuesday on ABC at 9:00 PM ET.
