Crane Collapse in Manhattan Leaves 4 Dead

One person is believed to be trapped in the rubble. The owner of the Fu Bar, which is located in the building, believes that one of his employees is buried under the rubble.

Ten of the townhome residents were injured. Three are said to be in critical condition.

The owner of Reliance Construction Group, Stephen Kaplan, said the crane collapse was an “absolute freak accident.” Kaplan said a piece of steel fell and clipped a tie that was holding the crane.

The crane remains balanced on the top of the building.
