American Man Claiming to be on a Mission to Hunt Down Osama Bin Laden Arrested in Northern Pakistan

An American man carrying a pistol, dagger, sword, night-vision equipment and Christian literature has been arrested in northern Pakistan, telling authorities that he was on a mission to hunt down al-Qaeda leader Osama Bin Laden.

Gary Brooks Faulkner arrived in Pakistan as a tourist on June 2 and had been assigned a security escort but he vanished on Monday. Authorities launched a search for the 52-year-old California man and eventually found him in a forest a few miles from the Afghan border.

Faulkner told authorities that he had been on a mission to kill Bin Laden and when he was asked about his chances of catching the elusive leader he told police “God is with me, and I am confident I will be successful in killing him.”
