Narconon Explains Contribution Is Key Part of Recovery

For many years, Michigan residents prepare for the Annual Field of Flight competition at WK Kellogg Airport. Hundreds of Balloonist journey to Battle Creek to compete in this exciting competition. The airport transforms into a wonderful fair with many attractions. Some of the greatest shows have come to Battle Creek for this event. Not only are there hot air balloons, but some of the greatest aerobatic performers will also being showing off their talents.

This year, the clients of Narconon Freedom Center, a local drug rehabilitation program, will get the great opportunity to “take flight” and see these events happen as one key part of their treatment; contributing to the community. Narconon Freedom Center is an inpatient drug rehab facility located in Albion that helps people from all over the country. The residential program has been in operation in the state of Michigan for nearly eight years and achieves a more than 70% success rate for permanent sobriety. 

The Narconon drug rehab program has eight steps that clients participate in to permanently recover from drug and alcohol addiction. One of the most important is a parts is one where they are given a moral guide and use this to help contribute and help others.

“As a native of Battle Creek, this is a great event and brings hundreds of people to the city. To be able to take the Narconon clients to this and let them see the wonderful display of balloons that fill the sky is going to be a great! They will get a chance to watch the air shows also, and if up to it, take a ride in the back of a monster truck and really be part of being a productive member of society and positively contribute to the community!” says Megan Werner Brennan, Public Contact Supervisor of Narconon Freedom Center.
