Acne Treatment reviewed online by Miami Dermatologist Danica Alexander D.O.

Acne Treatment information is now offered online by leading dermatologists. Patients can now get the information they need directly from the person they most trust most, their physician.

Miami Dermatologist, Dr. Danica Alexander D.O. now helps her patients understand and manage their acne by providing acne treatment information on her website.

Acne treatment aims to control one or more of the underlying causes of acne. Almost all cases of acne can be effectively treated. Treatment goals are to heal existing acne lesions, stop new lesions from forming, and prevent acne scars from developing.

Topical retinoids
, such as Differin ™, Epiduo™, Retin A Micro™ and Tazorac™ are a primary component of acne treatment because of their unique ability to open clogged pores. Some topical retinoids, such as Epiduo™ and Ziana™ are formulated in combination with other acne medications. Topical retinoids are often prescribed for maintenance therapy to keep acne under control, prevent the development of acne scars and provide improved skin texture.
