Anthony Minghella, Oscar-Winning Director of “The English Patient,” Dead at 54

Academy Award-winning director Anthony Minghella has reportedly died at the age of 54.

Details about the death of the Oscar-winning director of “The English Patient” have not been released but his agent, Judy Daish, has confirmed his death.

Minghella was also a director on films that received wide praise including “Cold Mountain” and “The Talented Mr. Ripley.” The well-liked Minghella had also been listed as executive producer on “Michael Clayton” and had written, produced and directed the recently completed “The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency”
