(Pompano Beach, FL – June 2010) Elmo from Sesame Street makes a special guest appearance on The Balancing Act June 15th at 7:00 am (ET/PT) on Lifetime Television. He brings with him Christine Charlick, Program Educator at Busch Gardens, and Stacy Spurlock, the park’s Zoo Educator. Together with Elmo they introduce two kangaroos, a giant bunny rabbit, a flamingo, and a baby alligator to The Balancing Act viewers.
The animals are all part of the new 2 ½ acre Sesame Street “Safari of Fun” exhibit at Busch Gardens. “The whole experience is designed to help kids learn while still having fun at the same time” says Charlick. “The Balancing Act is a great way for us to introduce viewers to an exciting new world where their kids can laugh, play, and learn right alongside their favorite Sesame Street Characters!”
The safari includes attractions like “1 2 3 Smile With Me,” where kids learn important lessons like healthy eating, family togetherness, the A,B,C’s, and 1,2,3’s. Sesame Street and Busch Gardens both share a common mission of educating kids, and creating the “Safari of Fun” was an opportunity to further that goal.
“Having Busch Gardens on ‘The Balancing Act’ has brought yet another great solution to women, one that will have a real impact, and help them balance their lives. This is the essence of solutions-based programming, and we are proud that we could bring this innovative technology to our viewers” says Doug Campbell, Founder and Executive VP of Programming for The Balancing Act.
