Miley Cyrus, the star of Disney Channel's Hannah Montana, has officially changed her name Friday to fit her everyday moniker.
Born Destiny Hope Cyrus, she decided her stage name would be Miley, derived from her childhood nickname "Smiley Miley" given to her by her father.
Parents Billy Ray and Leticia Cyrus filed the papers Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court on their daughter's behalf.
Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus will begin filming The Hannah Montana Movie this spring, but first they'll host the 2008 CMT Awards in Nashville April 14.
