Cirrus Logic, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRUS) is one of the hot stock and soared 9.615 to $16.99 after climbing to its 52-week high of $17.04 earlier in the session.

Chief Executive Officer Jason Rhode told CNBC that the company, whose biggest customer is Apple Inc. (AAPL US), boosted inventory to meet demand.

The stock has recovered about 325% from its 52-week low of $4.01.

 

DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) is under selling pressure on Thursday with a fall of 45 to $37.81 on over 17.71 million shares.

Today, analyst at Wells Fargo & Co downgraded the stock to “market perform” from “outperform”.

DIRECTV, incorporated in 2009, is a provider of digital television entertainment in the United States and Latin America. The Company operates two direct-to-home (DTH) operating segments: DIRECTV U.S. and DIRECTV Latin America. DIRECTV Holdings LLC and its subsidiaries (DIRECTV U.S.)

 

IHS Inc. (NYSE:IHS) is one of the biggest gainer and surged over 5% to 58.38 and made a new 52-week high of $58.43 after the company reported a stronger than expected second quarter earnings.

The company reported that it earned $38.5 million or 60 cents a share, compared to net income of $32.0 million or 50 cents a share a year ago. adjusted EPS worked out at $0.78.

Revenue grew 13% to $266.5 million from $235.3 million a year ago.

Analysts were expecting the company to report earnings of 74 cents a share.

Culp, Inc. (NYSE:CFI) fell 4% to $12.43 with over 125K shares.

The company reported an increase of 217.6% to $5.4 million or 41 cents a share in its fourth quarter’s net income, compared to net income of $1.7 million or 13 cents a share a year ago.

Revenue also jumped 19.7% to $57.2 million from $47.8 million a year ago.

Net sales for the fiscal year 2010 rose 1.2% to $206.4 million from $204.0 million a year ago. Net income for the year was $13.2 million or $1.01 per diluted share compared to net loss of $38.8 million or $3.07 per share a year ago.
