Artists for Mental Health invites you to a Benefit sponsored by LORD & TAYLOR in WESTFIELD, NJ  on: May 6, 2008, all day

 

Your ticket purchase will help create art exposure/experiences opportunities/program/for or by young persons with disabilities.

 

Tickets are only $5/adult (Children are free)

ArtMh is an organization which was set up by a group of professionals members in 1985 (among them well respected artists, mental heath professionals, physicians, psychiatrists, librarians, teachers, members of the clergy.) and incorporated in Oct 1987 as a non profit organization of volunteers to advocate for/create art experiences and programs for adolescents with impaired functioning. ArtMh has coordinated art exhibitons, at the Broadway Galleries, the Paterson Museum, dance movements workshops at Passaic County College. In particular they held, a Conference entitled: "Art History and Medicine, "at Rutgers University, in 1990, and an "Outsider Art Exhibit" at the Prudential Art Gallery of the Newark Museum in 1992, as well as at other locations including art exhibits/concerts at the South Orange Public Library. Its mission is to continue to advocate for art experiences for  disabled or ill individuals and to create art programs for them. 

 

Currently, ArtMh is organizing art exhibitions of "Outsider Art" at its current location in South Orange, and is accepting applications for new board members, and fund raisers.  email dani202@optonlinenet/artisformentalhealth@yahoo.com.
