Sara Jane Olson, Former Symbionese Liberation Army Member, Released from Prison

Sara Jane Olson, the former Symbionese Liberation Army member who went by the name Kathleen Soliah, who was sentenced for attempted murder and second-degree murder, was released from the Central Women’s Facility in Chowcilla, California on Thursday.

Olson was tied to a bank robbery in 1975 in which a Sacramento woman was shot and killed. For the next 24 years Olson avoided capture as she changed her name from Kathleen Soliah and adopted the life of a housewife and moved to St. Paul, Minnesota.

In 1999 Olson was captured and charged with planting a string of car bombs back in 1975. She pled guilty to attempted murder in the case and was sentenced to 14 years.

Terms of her release were unknown.
