Suspected U.S. Missile Strike in Pakistan Leaves at least 11 Dead

A suspected U.S. missile strike in Pakistan’s tribal region of North Waziristan has left at least 11 people dead.

According to officials the drone aircraft struck a house located just east of the main town of Miran Shah, killing everybody inside. Those same officials have said a number of militants were believed to be inside the home at the time of the strike.

The North Waziristan region is known as a haven for al-Qaeda and Taliban militants and has been a frequent target of drone attacks. Just last month al-Qaeda’s third in command Mustafa Abu al-Yazid was believed to have been killed by a strike in the region.
