Pakistan’s New PM to Seek Immediate Release of Jailed Judges

Yousaf Raza Gilani, the recently elected prime minister of Pakistan, has said he would seek the immediate release of all judges detained since the state of emergency declared by President Pervez Musharraf last November.

Gilani was addressing parliament for the first time since his election victory last month. The newly elected PM also said he would like to pass a resolution that would lead to a detailed investigation into the assassination of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto.
