It was a tough day for one of the “Barbie Bandits” as Ashley Nicole Miller was handed a ten year sentence for her part in a bank heist last year.
Miller, along with her friend Heather Johnson, robbed a Bank of America branch situated in a Kroger grocery store in Feb. 27, 2007. The pair were seen smiling and laughing while collecting more than $11,000 in cash and walking out the door.
Dubbed the “Barbie Bandits,” the duo then went on a shopping spree and stopped to get their hair done before police caught up with them. Miller was found to be in possession of Ecstasy with intent to distribute.
On Monday the fun ended as the 19-year-old Miller was sentenced to 10 years but will serve two and then be placed on probation for eight years.
Investigators were also able to determine that the teller at the Bank of America branch, Benny Herman Allen III, was part of the scheme and he was sentenced to 5 years in prison and placed on 5 years probation.
