Since 2002, radio station Spirit FM has been delivering messages of hope during the month of February. They call out to their listeners to send in Valentine cards of encouragement to the station to be distributed to various nursing homes, correctional facilities and even the homeless. PostcardMania, the nation’s fastest-growing direct mail marketing company in the nation, was asked to help this year and did so by donating 5000 beautifully designed direct mail postcards to the program.
The goal this year was to hit the 10,000 mark of postcards. With PostcardMania’s help, they were well over 16,000. Joy Gendusa, CEO of PostcardMania, created a pro bono division within her postcard marketing firm to help non-profit organizations who were dedicated to helping mankind and the world become a better place. Since the inception of her probono division, PostcardMania has donated hundreds of thousands of postcards to charities.
The recipients of the heart-felt cards were: Hillsborough, Hernando, Putnam & Zephyrhills Correctional Facilities; Various nursing homes and assisted living facilities; All Children’s and St. Joseph’s Hospitals; Division of Vocational Rehabilitation; Help Brings Hope to Haiti – Mission group for Haiti; and Trinity Café – Homeless Food Outreach
Spirit FM is owned and operated by the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg Florida. The Spirit FM studios are located near downtown
