Actor Richard Widmark Dies At Age 93

Richard Widmark, the Hollywood actor best known for his role in 1947 classic "Kiss of Death," died Monday after a long illness.

Widmark, 93, died at his home in Roxbury, Connecticut on Monday, his wife Susan Blanchard told The New York Times.

Widmark's role as the psychological killer Tommy Udo in "Kiss of Death" earned him an Oscar nomination. His work in acting earned him a prestigious star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Widmark was married for 55 years to his first wife, writer Jean Hazelwood, until her death in 1997. The couple had one daughter, Anne Heath Widmark, who got married to famed baseball pitcher Sandy Koufax in 1969. Widmark and Koufax unfortunately got divorced 13 years later.

In September 1999, Widmark married Susan Blanchard, who earlier was Henry Fonda's third wife.
