Jayci Yaeger, 10-Year-Old Cancer Patient who Pled for Visit from Father, Dies

Jayci Yaeger, the 10-year-old Nebraska girl who was suffering from terminal brain cancer, died Thursday night. Yaeger’s death came just one day after receiving the visit from her father, Jason Yaeger, that she had been pleading for.

The little girl had expressed that her dying wish was to visit with her father one last time but he had been serving time in a South Dakota federal prison on drug charges and had been refused a furlough to visit his daughter.

After the prison was flooded with letters from around the country prison officials decided to allow Jason Yaeger to travel to Nebraska. The father and daughter were together for about 30 minutes on Wednesday and while Jayci was not able to speak or move her breathing became heavier when Jason was by her bedside.

On Thursday night Jayci Yaeger passed away after suffering a series of strokes earlierin the day.
