Slade Allen Woodson Identified As Suspect in I-64 Shootings

Slade Allen Woodson has been identified as the person arrested in connection with the I-64 shootings in Charlottesville, Virginia Thursday.

Woodson, 19, was arrested by the Virginia State Police near Crozet at Yonder Hill Farm at 5am on Friday morning, but his identity was not released at the time of the arrest.

Woodson and four other people were at the home when police made the arrest. Another man confronted police with a handgun and a county law enforcement officer shot him. The man, who was unidentified, was flown to University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment.

Woodson is a suspect in yesterday's I-64 shootings west of Charlottesville, but has not been charged in those shootings.

He is charged in the shootings that happened at a home and a credit union early yesterday in Waynesboro. Woodson is charged with shooting into an occupied building and destruction of property, both of which are felonies.
