Narconon Freedom Center Preparing to Celebrate 8 Year Anniversary
July 2010 will be the eighth year anniversary of NarcononFreedomCenter; a non-profit drug rehab program located in Albion, Michigan. Narconon is an alternative approach to permanently handling substance abuse. The treatment facility focuses on handling both the physical and mental aspects of addiction and achieves a more than 70% success rate for permanent sobriety.
“The current Narconon facility used to be a hospital that serviced those of Albion and the smaller surrounding areas,” explains Megan Werner Brennan, Public Contact Supervisor of the center. “After renovations and updates, the facility was turned into NarcononFreedomCenter and has been designed to service Narconon clients. This is a great facility, very large areas for the students inside and out. The 80,000 square foot facility sits on 9 acres of land which gives the students the ability to be outside, play basketball, they can also enjoy sitting out back and watching the deer early in the morning. The area is very peaceful and relaxing, just what our clients need.”
NarcononFreedomCenter has had several hundred graduates from their drug treatment programand will have many more to come. The center was started by a graduate of the program who wanted to help others to get the gains from Narconon that he was able to achieve to handle his own addiction. The center is set up with this in mind.
“We feel students need to be in an environment that is not only learning, but a refreshing and relaxing place for them to be” adds Brennan. “To celebrate we are going to be holding an event at our center in July that will include a special graduation, special guests invited from around the community to join the students for dinner and a special treat afterwards.”
