Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige Hit Atlanta, GA for Show at Philips Arena on April 8

Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige kicked off their North American tour on March 22 at the AmericanAirlines Arena in Miami, Florida and will be carrying their show to Atlanta, GA with a performance at Philips Arena on April 8.

 

The tour, dubbed "Mary J. Blige & Jay-Z: Heart of the City," was touted in a press release as “the first time in more than 15 years that African American male/female [artists] of this stature have co-headlined a national concert tour.”

 

Jay-Z has won seven Grammy Awards and is the former president and CEO of Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. He is a co-owner of the NBA franchise New Jersey Nets as well as the upscale 40/40 Club. In 2007 he released his tenth album American Gangster which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.

 

Prior to their stop in Atlanta Jay-Z and Mary J. Blige will be in Washington D.C. on 4/6, Greensboro, NC 4/5, Boston, MA 4/3, and Toronto, ON 4/2.
