Tom Clancy House Damaged by Fire

The home of author Tom Clancy was damaged by a fire that broke out at his Maryland residence in Calvert County on Saturday.

Clancy, best known for penning political and military thrillers like Clear and Present Danger, Patriot Games, and The Hunt for Red October, was home when the fire broke out but was uninjured.

The fire was said to have started on the deck and worked its way towards the house before firefighters were able to put the blaze out. An estimated $20,000 worth of damage was caused by the fire.
