Washington Teenager Killed in High Speed Police Chase

An 18-year-old Granite Falls, Washington man attempting to avoid being pulled over by a sheriff’s deputy died on Friday night when the car he was driving went of the road and struck a tree.

The deputy, a 25-year-vet, observed the speeding vehicle and began pursuit but the teen allegedly refused and a high speed chase ensued.

With conditions including snow and rain the roads were dangerously slick and the teen’s car slid off the road along Highway 2. He was taken to Providence Hospital Colby Campus where he was pronounced dead.

The sheriff’s deputy will be placed on administrative leave while the accident is investigated.
